How Solar Covers Work

Solar covers are made of durable resin and have thousands of tiny air bubbles designed to capture and transmit solar heat to your pool. The bubble material will increase light intensity in the pool ad retain heat at night and on cloudy days.  The lighter in colour the better.  You want the suns rays to penetrate thru the solar blanket and warm the water beneath it.  The solar blanket will keep the heat in the pool water.

Another option for heat retention is the Solar Fish.  This slow-release device sinks to the bottom of the pool and releases a liquid blanket to keep the heat.  These units last for weeks and are easy to use and replace.  Great for larger above ground pools when the solar cover is heavy to take on and off the pool.
