How to Read Dog Body Language and Behaviour (for children)
Description
Too often we are horrified to see news stories of children being injured or even killed by dogs. In many such stories, a neighbour is quoted saying something like “that dog never so much as growled at anyone,” or “the attack was totally unprovoked.”
Healthy dogs don’t attack “for no reason,” and dogs tell us so much more with their body language than with their voices – information we and our children miss, with often tragic results.
For their safety, children need to be educated how to interact appropriately with dogs, how to understand messages dogs are sending them, and what constitutes an invitation to play or a request to back off.
This seminar uses pictures and videos to help children learn the important basics of reading dog signals and interacting safely and appropriately with their own pets as well as pets they meet through friends and relatives.
