Private, in-home training offers several advantages over classroom instruction, and may be the right answer for your needs. Some people choose private training because they can’t or don’t want to commit to the same time every week, and private training allows scheduling flexibility both on the day and time and the interval between sessions. Some are looking for more specific help, or have a lot of questions, and therefore want the instructor’s full attention, rather than following a program that is designed for broad use and “most dogs.” 

Still others are not looking as much for basic skills taught in the classroom, but tweaks and backup plans when class methods haven’t achieved the desired results, or solutions to training obstacles.

And some dog owners or dog-owning families are facing dog behaviour problems that are not typically addressed in a classroom where the focus is more on teaching obedience skills than on solving problems.

Rates for private instruction in Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton:

• 60-minute session $115
• 4-session program (paid at first session) $400

• Surcharge per session $25
